I checked the plugin code and contacted the developer through the support forum. Sean was very helpful, investigated the issue, and released an update that fixed the problem. After updating to version 1.1, the Wordfence warning disappeared and the scan was clean. Excellent support and a developer who actually listens and acts on feedback.
